I'm Dana Weaver
After becoming a nursing home administrator at 24, I learned quickly that everything I had been taught in college could not prepare me to lead people. I was immediately overwhelmed and needed a mentor and leadership training so I could be the leader my team needed.
I didn't get the development as an administrator but I did get it in my next position. I had the opportunity to gain valuable leadership tools and knowledge because my boss saw something greater in me than I did. I was afforded excellent education and had the opportunity to teach leadership for years throughout my career. I invested further in myself by becoming a curious learner and devouring as many leadership books as I could. What I learned was that if I treated everyone as an individual and applied the golden rule: treat others as you would want them to treat you, change happens.
